Morning catastrophes!

Hey...

Mornings are a major struggle in my house, with a teenager who just wants to sleep, two grumpy little boys and a baby who wants constant attention. There is generally a lot of chaos, running around and brothers yelling stuff like "Where's my underpants?!!".

You can constantly hear alarms going off (yes we all wake up at different times!) which drives my Mum crazy!

Leave me a comment if this describes your house in the morning!

Baby love!

Hi there,

Well I've spoken about my brothers already and today I've decided to give them a break and tell you about Indigo instead.

Indi is 8 months old and the cheekiest little possum. She loves to sing, dance (or wiggle), eat and make a mess, splash in the bath and again make a massive mess and have lots of cuddles with her older siblings.

Here's a picture of her when she was one week old. She was so tiny and precious. Can't believe how much she's grown!

And here she is now, all big and grown up. Crawling and nearly standing up, eating almost as much food as we do and singing just as loud.

And one more...

She is such a big part of my life and I love her so much. More cute baby things coming soon.

Parenting at a young age

Hey there...

This post is about something that I'm apprehensive about sharing with you all.

The thing is, our family is a bit different from the average family. We happen to only live with one parent. My Mum is the only adult in the household, which can be both rewarding and challenging at different times.

My Mum and Dad have been divorced since I was 7 and I no longer see my Dad considering some circumstances. My Mum remarried when I was 11 which brought another man into mine and my brothers life. This was a difficult time in my life as I wasn't that keen for my Mum to have a new husband after what happened with my Dad.

Then recently my Mum and Stepdad separated which was a big struggle for my family. It was really hard at first but is getting easier as time goes on. Now we have a family of 5, four kids and one adult. We are getting on just fine and are actually coping pretty well with our new life. Finding it much more relaxed and enjoyable. We also just moved house which is a nice change and is helping us start over with a new beginning.

Anyway the main point of this post was the fact that, as my Mum is a single parent, I happen to do a large part of looking after my younger siblings. I also help a lot with the cooking and cleaning. I find this difficult at times as I am expected to act like an adult in some areas but in others, like discipline, I'm still a kid. This takes some time getting used to but I am coping pretty well and mostly enjoying the responsibility.

Sorry that this was a bit of a more serious post, I just wanted to explain our circumstances.

Small and annoying brothers!

Hello again!

Recently I have found that younger brothers can be really painful! They think they are so awesome and funny when really they make NO sense. They tell the most ridiculous jokes and then expect you to laugh, and if you don't, beware!

You know how girls have the reputation of taking forever in the bathroom? Well in my house it's the boys that take a million years. You can hear the water running for a few minutes and then talking, singing and dancing coming from inside the room. If you opened the door you would see one of my brothers standing in front of the mirror probably posing, doing his hair or showing off his muscles. (they both have none by the way!)

A couple of days ago they found out that they got accepting into the musical Peter Pan. They are SOOOOOO excited!! On the other hand, I'm not so excited. Now I have to listen to them learn the songs, their lines and practice their English accent. Which should be amusing!

{ Here's a picture of them at their auditions. }

Anyway rant over! If you have younger brothers then you'll understand where I'm coming from! More later...

Introducing US!

Hi I'm Saraya!

I'm a big sister to Elijah (11), William (8) and Indigo (8m). This blog is about my life as being their older sister. Sometimes it's really great and I couldn't think of anything I'd rather do, but other times they drive me crazy!

This blog is about my life as an older sister, the ups and downs, good and bad and all the fun times.

This is a pic of us four together:

Aren't we cute!

Anyway just wanted to introduce myself and my siblings. Will be posting more soon.
